Shri Sreekumar is a former Additional Secretary to Government and Director of Treasuries with over 35 years of distinguished service in the Government of Kerala. His career spans leadership roles across 13 line departments and the Finance Department in Government, giving him comprehensive exposure to policy formulation, administration, financial management, and public service delivery. A reform-driven administrator, he pioneered the introduction of E-Treasury and Core Banking System in Government Treasuries. He enabled real-time inter-treasury transfer of funds and initiated the online linking of treasuries with all line departments, significantly improving transparency and efficiency in public finance. As Joint Secretary in charge of Administration in the Finance Department, he led the physical modernisation and complete face-lift of the Finance Department in the Government Secretariat within record time. Centre for Training and Financial Management in Government under the aegies of Finance Department grew up to its present form and stature, under the guidance and stewardship of the then joint secretary to Government Sr. S. Sreekumar. As Director of Treasuries, he also oversaw the statewide modernisation of Government Treasuries to align them with contemporary governance standards. He has represented the Government as Member, Syndicate, Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady. He has also served as Director on the Boards of Several Public Sector undertakings.
